NEW - Governor's Tacoma Narrows Bridge advisory committee seeks new members
Kitsap County residents have the opportunity to advise the Washington State Transportation Commission on new toll rates for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The Tacoma Narrows Bridge Citizen Advisory Committee, with nine governor-appointed members, has two vacancies. Kitsap County residents are encouraged to apply, especially those who commute between Kitsap and Pierce counties.

NEW - Long traffic delays coming to SR 305 Agate Pass Bridge February 9-28
The Washington State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of significant delays expected on SR 305 at the Agate Pass Bridge beginning Monday, February 9. Traffic will be restricted to a single alternating lane between 8:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends through Saturday, February 28.

Title 17-Zoning code change proposed
The Kitsap County Department of Community Development is proposing a change to Title 17, Zoning. The changes establish the requirement for a conditional use permit for new shooting facilities, for current shooting facilities that wish to expand the number of ranges from their original configuration. A work study on the proposed ordinance is scheduled before the Planning Commission on Tuesday, January 20, 9:00 am, in the Commissioners Chambers, County Administrative Building, Port Orchard.

Kitsap County is encouraging residents to sign up for electronic notifications for inclement weather. "Our inclement weather page is updated frequently during storms," according to Doug Bear, Public Communications Manager. "Subscribing to this topic in our notification system provides the latest information and links to resources residents can use during inclement weather and emergency events," Bear added.
