NEW - Applications open for Boundary Review Board, Board of Equalization and Planning Commission
Kitsap County residents have the opportunity to provide input to re-mapping boundaries, assessed property taxes and county code revisions by serving as representatives on county advisory groups. There are currently vacancies for an at-large representative on the Washington State Boundary Review Board; a District 1 (North Kitsap) representative on the Board of Equalization; and District 1 (North Kitsap) and District 2 (South Kitsap) representatives on the Kitsap County Planning Commission.

NEW - Multiple holiday events this weekend at the Fairgrounds & Event Center
The holiday season bursts into full regalia at the Kitsap Fairgrounds & Events Center the weekend of November 21-23. Four events will take place all at the same time that are sure to put people in the mood for the holidays and take care of some if not all of their shopping needs. Parks officials feel that the events work well together and will make a special weekend of holiday fun. They will open up overflow parking for the event.

CK Community Council Town Hall set for November 20
The Central Kitsap Community Council Town Hall Meeting will take place on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., at the Fire and Water District Community Room, 5300 NW Newberry Hill Road, Silverdale. The guest speaker for the meeting is Dr. Chris May, Senior Program Manager of the Kitsap County Storm Water Program.

Applications open for new non-motorized facilities advisory council
As part of the newly formed Kitsap County Non-Motorized Facilities Citizens Advisory Committee, residents will have the opportunity to review existing and proposed local and regional non-motorized transportation routes; help prioritize non-motorized projects, funding and implementation; and review the safety and maintenance of existing facilities.

Little Valley Road NE will close at the intersection with SR 30 Wednesday afternoon after the Washington State Department of Transportation completes striping there.

Kitsap County to Host Open House on Final Shoreline Master Program (SMP)
The Kitsap County Shoreline Master Program (SMP) Update received conditional approval by the Department of Ecology on October 2, 2014. The Kitsap Board of County Commissioners wishes to provide the public an opportunity to view the required and recommended changes before they take final action to adopt the SMP.

Conservation District named Northwest Area Team of the Year
In October, the Kitsap Conservation District was selected from 47 districts to be recognized as the Northwest Area Team of the Year by the Washington State Conservation Commission. The Commission lauded Kitsap Conservation Districtís innovative partnership with Clean Water Kitsap and their award winning Rain Garden and Green Stormwater Solutions Program.
